Dive into the fascinating world of the cosmos with Aula de Estrellas! Our Astronomy Initiation Course is designed for anyone who wants to explore the sky as a hobby, from the comfort of their home. This course will be taught live, online, once a week, every Thursday afternoon, from the October 3, 2024 to June 26, 2025.

  • Live classes: Real contact with the teacher, almost as if you were in a physical classroom.
  • Access to materials: The day after each class, you will receive the documentation in PDF and the session recording by email, so you can review it whenever you need.

  • Practical experiences: We offer up to three optional night observation outings each trimester, to locations away from light pollution in the provinces of Seville and Huelva (additional cost of €10/outing).

Course Syllabus
In the course, you will learn about a wide variety of topics that will lead you to explore the mysteries of the universe, such as:

  • Introduction to Astronomy and its atmospheric effects
  • Earth’s movements and seasons of the year
  • Constellations and mythology
  • Binoculars and telescopes: the basic equipment to observe the sky
  • Introduction to Astrophotography
  • Observation with Stellarium
  • Astronomical events and standout phenomena each month
  • Historical overview from the beginnings of Astronomy to Einstein
  • Solar System, The Sun, The Moon, Eclipses, and more
  • Stars and their evolution, black holes and exoplanets
  • Deep sky objects, such as nebulae and galaxies
  • And many more wonders of the cosmos…

Registering is very easy! For only €37 per month, you can enjoy this journey to the cosmos. Additionally, if you belong to any of our affiliated entities, you can take advantage of the discount and pay €32/month.

To note:

  • Classes that coincide with holidays will be rescheduled on dates agreed upon with the students.
  • During weeks of field outings (Friday or Saturday night), the Thursday class of that same week will not be held.
  • Payment is monthly and must be made by bank transfer during the first five days of the month.
